The PTE Academic is a computer-based test, including 20 different question types assessed in 04 skills: Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing. Some universities only require students to obtain a certain overall score, but some others may ask students to fulfil the Communicative Skills as well. Thus, understanding what sub-score (Communicative Skill area) each question type contributes to definitely helps test-takers know what to focus on strategically to pursue their dreams.
The table below shows what Communicative Skill area each question type clearly contributes to.

As we can see, several question types contribute to the same sub-score. Hence, in order to upgrade your communicative Skills, you need to improve your performance for some specific question types as follows.
Listening: P1: Repeat Sentence, P1: Re-tell Lecture, P1: Answer Short Question, and all question types in Part 3: Listening.
Reading: P1: Read Aloud, P3: Highlight Correct Summary, P3: Highlight Incorrect Words, and all question types in Part 2: Reading.
Writing: P1: Summarize Written Text, P1: Write Essay, P2: R&W: Fill in the Blanks, P3: Summarize Spoken Text, P3: Fill in the Blanks, P3: Write from Dictation.
But the question is, how do we know which sub-score we are not good at yet, especially each question type so we are able to concentrate on them? Students should not worry because we already have a plan for you to take our FREE 2-hour MOCK test and immediately receive an estimated overall score, sub-scores, and scores for each question type. A sample is as follows:

All the scores here are on a scale 90, the same as the Pearson Test of English, so students know which sub-score they need to advance after receiving their feedback. For example, if a test-taker wants to improve his Speaking score, then he needs to focus on P1: Describe Image (31-47) and P1: Answer Short Question (55-63) according to the above sample feedback because these two item types have the lowest scores compared to other Speaking item types (P1: Read Aloud, P1: Repeat Sentence, P1: Retell Lecture).
